Press ReleaseFor Immediate Release: Contact: Oriana House Receives Standards of Excellence Certification Oriana House was awarded the Standards for Excellence certification from the Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations (OANO). OANO praised Oriana House for meeting rigorous benchmarks for ethics and accountability to boost public trust. Oriana House underwent an extensive peer review process to confirm adherence to a comprehensive code of conduct that promotes accountability through self regulation. Terri-Lynne B. Smiles, chair of the Standards for Excellence advisory committee, said organizations that achieve this certification reflect adherence to some of the toughest review standards in the nation. “In the end, it is the public that benefits when nonprofit groups strive for this caliber of excellence,” said Smiles. Oriana House Executive Vice President Bernie Rochford said Oriana House is honored to receive this recognition. “This demonstrates our commitment to quality operations and demonstrates that we are good stewards of our nonprofit status,” Rochford said. The Standards of Excellence certification was announced today at OANO’s annual conference in Columbus. Rochford added that Oriana House also holds numerous accreditations from the American Correctional Association which recognize Oriana House for operating quality community corrections and chemical dependency treatment programs above the national standards. Oriana House was also the first agency to receive the Correctional Accreditation Association of Ohio’s Reginald A. Wilkinson Award of Excellence in Accreditation Adult Corrections Agency of the Year last fall. “This certification along with our numerous accreditations and awards confirm that we have a professional staff who is dedicated to managing high quality programs,” Rochford said. Oriana House is a community corrections and chemical dependency treatment agency headquartered in Summit County and also operates facilities in Seneca County and Cuyahoga County. -30- |
