Juvenile Halfway House
Local juvenile courts refer juvenile offenders to this residential sanction
and chemical dependency treatment program. The program manager, caseworker and
community representatives are involved in deciding if the juvenile is
appropriate for placement in the program. Juveniles' ages range from 12 to 18
years. By maintaining a highly structured setting, the Juvenile Halfway House
Program prepares juveniles for positive family and community reintegrations.
Juvenile offenders participate in a three-phase program where education and
chemical dependency treatment are the focus. Workshops on life skills,
independent living and employment skills are provided and parents are informed
and involved in the reintegration process. |
