Glenwood Jail Alcohol Programs
Glenwood Jail offers programs specifically for driving under the influence (DUI)
offenders. Operated jointly by the Summit County Sheriff's Office and Oriana
House, the Glenwood Jail complies with minimum security jail standards as
specified by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. Both
first-time and multiple offender programs are housed in the facility.
Offenders are sentenced to a three-day or a six-day program. Confinement
begins for first-time DUI offenders Thursday at 5:00 p.m. and ends Sunday at
5:00 p.m. for the three-day program and Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. for the six-day
program. During incarceration, offenders participate in drug and alcohol
education certified by the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction
Services. Based on a mandatory drug/alcohol assessment, offenders may be
referred for treatment. Follow-through with treatment recommendations is
required by the courts. |
