Family Violence Court
Operating in conjunction with the Akron Municipal Court, Victims Assistance Program and the Battered Women's Shelter, the Family Violence Court provides a specialized level of supervision and services to misdemeanor and felony domestic violence offenders by offering early intervention, case management and treatment programming. This program was developed for accused or adjudicated domestic violence offenders who qualify for probation or other community placement. Participants complete a four-phase program and address financial responsibilities such as court costs, fines and restitution before completing the program.
