Discretionary Rehabilitation Program
The Discretionary Rehabilitation Program diverts first-time offenders from conviction and sentencing to education sessions concentrating on skills and behavior management in order to avoid further criminal activity. Offenders entering this program have a background check to assure there is no prior criminal history. Offenders participate in information sessions which include topics such as: Problem Solving; Chemical Dependency/Abuse Review; Anger Management; Values and Personal Responsibility; and Court Structure. This program is only offered through Akron Municipal Court. Upon successful completion of the program, charges are dismissed.
