Moving Toward Employment

The Moving Toward Employment Program, funded by the County of Summit Department of Job and Family Services, is designed to assist individuals who have a criminal record find a job. Services through this program are open to the community, and are available for free to ex-offenders who are at the 6th grade reading level or above; have a minor child in the household or have a shared legal parenting agreement; and are unemployed or at 200% of the federal poverty level. Participants undergo employment readiness training where they learn to develop a resume, properly complete applications, and build skills for the interview process. Once participants obtain employment, they will attend aftercare sessions to help address any work related issues they may experience.
