Cuyahoga County Nonresidential Community Corrections Programs

Electronic Monitoring Program

Electronic Monitoring supervises offenders through the use of an active, tamper proof, electronic surveillance system. A signal that is transmitted from a band worn around the offender's ankle allows for 24-hour monitoring to track if and when they leave their residence.

Offenders must follow a schedule and are only permitted to leave their residence for work, school, substance abuse counseling, or other authorized programming. An in-home breathalyzer can be a required part of sanctioning for individuals who need frequent alcohol abuse monitoring. Compliance with time schedules and program requirements results in successful completion of the program.

SCOPE (Specialized Cognitive Offender Programming & Education)

The Specialized Cognitive Offender Programming & Education (SCOPE) program is a new program offered by the Cuyahoga County Adult Probation Department. The SCOPE Program is designed to reduce recidivism and commitments to the state prison system. SCOPE uses the National Institute of Corrections’ Thinking for a Change Curriculum (includes Thinking Controls Behavior and Cognitive Self Change, Social Skills, Problem Solving). There is no cost to offenders for the SCOPE program. SCOPE is managed by Oriana House, Inc.
